Gong Pricing 2026: What It Costs and How It Is Structured

Gong does not publish prices. Here is the pricing structure Gong does confirm, what procurement data shows buyers actually pay, and the 2026 credit model that changed the bill.

Gong does not publish prices. Its pricing page is a quote request form, so the only way to get a number is to talk to sales.

What Gong does publish is the structure, and that is the more useful thing to understand before the call: licenses are priced per user, and there is a separate platform fee based on how many users you need to support. Two line items, not one.

This guide covers what Gong confirms itself, what independent procurement data says buyers actually pay, and the 2026 credit change that added a third line to the bill.

What Gong Confirms About Its Own Pricing

These come from Gong's own site and help center, so they are the facts you can rely on.

Licenses are priced per user, plus a platform fee. Gong's pricing page states that licenses are priced per user and that a platform fee applies based on the number of users supported. This is the single most important thing to know going in: a per-seat quote alone is not your total cost.

The platform is modular. Gong sells a Foundation core license, with separately licensed modules including Gong Engage, Gong Forecast, Enable Essentials, Forecast Essentials, and Data Cloud. Gong's help center also distinguishes "core license seats" from "application seats," and notes new seats are prorated to the end of your subscription term. Practically, that means the headline seat price covers less than people assume, and the modules are where the quote grows.

There is no free tier and no self-serve trial. The pricing page offers team-size bands (1-50, 51-1,000, 1,001-9,999, 10,000+) and a demo request. There is no way to try Gong without a sales conversation.

The 2026 Change: Gong Credits

In June 2026 Gong documented a usage-based AI meter called Gong Credits, having emailed customers in late May. This is a genuine structural change, and it is worth understanding precisely because it is widely misreported.

What consumes credits: AI Trackers, Gong's MCP server, and API-based AI workflows.

What does not: calls and call analysis, conversation insights, deal intelligence, forecasting, and coaching all remain included with seats. Several third-party write-ups claim transcription and coaching now burn credits. Gong's own documentation says otherwise.

How allocation works: you get a default credit allocation based on seat count plus an introductory allocation. On overage, Gong states it does not automatically add credits or generate charges - buying more is an explicit purchase decision rather than a surprise on the invoice.

So the bill has three components in 2026: per-user licenses, a platform fee, and AI credits if you use the AI automation surfaces.

What Buyers Actually Pay

Since Gong publishes no numbers, the credible figures come from procurement-data companies that aggregate real contracts. Treat these as ranges from a named dataset, not as list prices.

Vendr, whose marketplace page for Gong was last updated March 2026, reports an average contract value of $54,900 per year, from analysis of 1,126 purchases, with observed contracts ranging from $11,352 to $204,036. Vendr also reports buyers negotiating an average 14.17% discount off the initial quote.

That range is the real story. A twenty-fold spread between the smallest and largest contract tells you the number depends almost entirely on seat count, module mix, and negotiation - which is exactly why no list price exists.

Two cautions before you quote any Gong figure:

  • Per-seat estimates circulating online are estimates. Vendr publishes per-seat bands, but labels them as its own bucketing, and its tier names do not match Gong's actual module names. Gong has never confirmed a per-seat rate.
  • The "$5,000 to $50,000 platform fee" figure is not from Gong. The existence of the platform fee is vendor-confirmed. The commonly repeated dollar range comes from third-party reports based on user accounts, not from Gong.

What Drives a Gong Quote Up

  • Module creep. Foundation alone is not the full product most demos show. Forecast, Engage, and Data Cloud are separate lines.
  • The platform fee scales with supported users, so it grows alongside seats rather than being a flat entry cost.
  • Multi-year commitments are commonly reported to unlock better annual rates, which also means less flexibility if adoption disappoints.
  • Seats you cannot reduce mid-term. Gong prorates seats added during a term. Removing them typically waits for renewal.
  • Credits, if your team leans on AI Trackers, the MCP server, or API workflows.

Is Gong Worth It?

For its actual job, generally yes. Gong is the category leader in conversation intelligence, and if you have a team of reps taking a high volume of calls, recording and analyzing those calls produces coaching and deal insight that is genuinely hard to get another way.

The teams that regret the spend are usually the ones who bought it for a problem it does not solve. Gong analyzes conversations that happened. It cannot tell you anything about the prospects who never took a call - which, for most outbound teams, is the overwhelming majority of the pipeline.

That is the honest boundary. If your problem is "our reps' calls could be better," Gong is the right category. If your problem is "we do not know what prospects want until we finally get them on a call," you are looking at a different layer.

Gong vs Parsley: Different Layers, Not Alternatives

Worth being direct: Parsley is not a Gong alternative, and swapping one for the other would be a mistake in either direction.

Gong is post-conversation intelligence. It records and analyzes calls that have already happened, and it is built for coaching reps and inspecting deals. Parsley is pre-conversation intelligence: reps put a Parsley link on their LinkedIn profile and in outbound emails, the AI presales agent answers prospects' questions from the team's own sales docs, and every conversation produces first-party buyer intent before a call is ever booked.

The pricing contrast is the part that matters for smaller teams. Gong's model assumes a seated sales org with budget approval; Parsley charges per conversation with unlimited seats and no subscription, so a two-person team pays for what it uses.

Teams running both is a perfectly sensible end state: Parsley captures what prospects wanted on the way in, Gong analyzes how the resulting calls went.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Gong cost per user?

Gong does not publish per-user rates. It confirms only that licenses are priced per user with an additional platform fee based on the number of users supported. Per-seat figures circulating online are third-party estimates rather than Gong's list prices, and the wide contract range in procurement data suggests the effective per-seat cost varies substantially by deal.

Does Gong have a free trial?

No. Gong offers no free tier and no self-serve trial. The pricing page routes to a demo request, so evaluation requires a sales conversation.

What is the Gong platform fee?

Gong confirms on its pricing page that a platform fee applies based on the number of users supported, charged in addition to per-user licenses. Gong does not publish the amount, and the dollar ranges reported elsewhere come from user accounts rather than from Gong.

What are Gong Credits?

Gong Credits are a usage-based meter introduced in 2026, consumed by AI Trackers, Gong's MCP server, and API-based AI workflows. Calls, call analysis, conversation insights, deal intelligence, forecasting, and coaching remain included with seats. Gong states it does not automatically charge for overage.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Gong?

For conversation intelligence specifically, several vendors compete at lower price points. But most teams evaluating Gong on cost are really asking whether they need full call recording and analysis at all. If the goal is understanding what prospects want rather than reviewing how calls went, pre-call intent capture costs a fraction of a conversation intelligence platform and covers prospects who never take a meeting.

Why does Gong not publish pricing?

Like most enterprise sales platforms, Gong prices per deal based on seat count, module mix, and contract length. The practical consequence for buyers is that the first quote is a starting position - procurement data shows buyers negotiating an average 14% off.

The Bottom Line

Gong's pricing is three components stacked: per-user licenses, a platform fee that scales with users, and AI credits for the automation surfaces. None of the amounts are public, and independent procurement data shows contracts spanning from roughly eleven thousand to over two hundred thousand dollars a year - so anchor on your seat count and module list, not on any headline number you read.

The question worth asking before the demo is not "what does Gong cost" but "which conversations am I trying to understand." Gong is excellent at the ones that happened. The ones that never happened need something else.
