12 Best Gong Alternatives in 2026 (Honestly Compared)
Gong alternatives segmented by what you are actually replacing - full revenue intelligence, conversation intelligence, or a notetaker - with published prices where vendors publish them.
Why trust this list?
Peter Duffy has spent 20+ years in B2B sales and has used or evaluated most of the tools on this list first-hand. These recommendations are based on real experience - not sponsorships or affiliate deals.
The best Gong alternative depends entirely on which part of Gong you are actually replacing. Most lists blur that, because blurring it makes every tool look like a substitute. In reality there are three different products hiding under "Gong alternative": full revenue intelligence with forecasting, conversation intelligence for coaching, and meeting notetakers.
Replace the wrong tier and you either overpay for forecasting you never open, or you save money and discover in week three that your managers lost deal inspection.
Two disclosures before the list. First, we build Parsley, which is not a Gong alternative - it captures buyer intent before calls rather than analyzing calls afterwards. It appears once, at the end, in a clearly labeled section, and not in the ranking. Second, and more usefully: nearly every page currently ranking for this search is published by a vendor that ranks itself first. We checked ten of them; eight put their own product at number one. Read all of them, including this one, with that in mind - and prefer the vendor-published prices below over anyone's summary of a competitor's pricing.
Why Teams Leave Gong
These are the reasons that hold up against Gong's own documentation, rather than competitor folklore.
- No free tier and no free trial. Evaluation runs through a demo, so there is no cheap way to test fit.
- Pricing is quote-only, with two components. Gong's pricing page states licenses are priced per user and a platform fee applies based on the number of users supported. Vendr's March 2026 procurement data reports a median contract of $54,900 per year across 1,126 purchases, ranging from $11,352 to $204,036.
- Auto-renewal with a 60-day notice window. Gong's published terms renew subscriptions for one-year periods unless either party gives written notice at least 60 days before the term ends.
- Downgrading re-prices you. Those same terms state that reducing volume or contract length at renewal triggers re-pricing "without regard to the prior term's per-unit pricing." Shrinking your seat count can forfeit the rate you negotiated - this is the single most under-appreciated term in a Gong contract.
- Forecasting and engagement are separate modules. Gong's help documentation confirms Foundation is the base license, with Enable Essentials, Forecast, Engage and Data Cloud licensed separately. The demo often shows more than the base quote covers.
- Overkill for smaller teams. A recurring theme in verified reviews on AWS Marketplace and Capterra: the platform is excellent and the price is hard to justify below a certain team size.
Two things you will read elsewhere that we could not verify and are not repeating as fact: a 15-seat minimum (Gong's own docs state no minimum, and unassigned users are free "Collaborators"), and mandatory 2-3 year lock-in (Gong's terms default renewals to one year).
The Three Tiers
| Tier | What it replaces | Vendors |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Full revenue intelligence | Forecasting + deal inspection + CI | Chorus, Clari, Salesloft, Revenue.io, Modjo, Avoma (with add-ons) |
| 2. Conversation intelligence | Recording, coaching, call analytics | Jiminny, Sybill, Clari Copilot, Avoma base |
| 3. Meeting notetakers | Recording, transcription, search | Fathom, Fireflies, Otter, Grain |
If you are enterprise with mandatory forecasting, only Tier 1 is credible. If you are 20-100 seats, Tier 2 vendors are genuine swaps. Under 20 seats, Tier 3 replaces the part reps actually used - and Gong probably was never economic for you.
1. Avoma - Best Overall Gong Alternative
Tier: Full revenue intelligence (with add-ons) · Pricing: Published
Avoma is the closest thing to Gong's shape at prices you can read on a web page. It covers notetaking, scheduling, coaching and forecasting, and it is unusually transparent in a category that is not.
Published pricing (annual billing): Startup $19 per recorder seat/month (up to 25 seats), Organization $24 (up to 100), Enterprise $39 (10-seat minimum). Add-ons: Conversation Intelligence $29, Revenue Intelligence $29, Lead Router $19 per seat/month, with 10-15% bundle discounts. Avoma states there are no setup fees and no minimum platform fees, and viewers and collaborators are free. 14-day free trial, no credit card.
Pros: genuine published pricing; no platform fee; the only Tier 1 option you can evaluate without a sales call. Cons: the add-ons roughly double the headline price, so compare the fully-loaded number against Gong, not the $19. Review themes cluster on recording reliability (the bot occasionally failing to join or dropping) and transcription accuracy with strong accents or heavy jargon.
Verdict: the best default recommendation for mid-market teams who want Gong's capabilities and a price they can check. Note Avoma's own comparison page quotes a different Organization price than its pricing page - trust /pricing.
2. Chorus by ZoomInfo - Best Direct Enterprise Substitute
Tier: Full revenue intelligence · Pricing: Quote only
Chorus is Gong's oldest and most direct rival, now part of ZoomInfo. It does conversation intelligence, deal intelligence and forecasting at enterprise scale.
Pricing: none published; the pricing page routes to a form. ZoomInfo lists Chorus as a premium add-on to its platform, and Vendr reports a median overall ZoomInfo contract of $33,500 per year across 1,568 purchases - but that is the platform, not Chorus standalone, and there is no standalone Chorus benchmark to cite.
Pros: enterprise-grade, feature-comparable to Gong, and compelling if you already buy ZoomInfo data. Cons: it is effectively no longer sold standalone, so the CI decision drags in a data-platform commitment. You are also swapping one quote-only vendor for another - if opacity was your complaint about Gong, this does not fix it.
Verdict: the natural pick for ZoomInfo shops. A lateral move for everyone else.
3. Clari Copilot - Best If Forecasting Is the Real Problem
Tier: CI as a module of a forecasting platform · Pricing: Quote only
Clari is a revenue platform whose centre of gravity is forecast accuracy. Copilot is its conversation intelligence module - Clari separates it from Forecast and Inspect, so Copilot alone is CI, not full revenue intelligence.
Pricing: none published. No trial mentioned.
Pros: best-in-class forecasting if that is the actual gap; strong for large, complex pipelines. Cons: quote-only, and buying the full platform means committing to a second enterprise vendor. Copilot on its own does less than Gong Foundation.
Verdict: right when the honest diagnosis is "our forecast is wrong," not "our calls could be better."
4. Jiminny - Best Mid-Market Coaching Platform
Tier: Conversation intelligence · Pricing: Partly published
Jiminny focuses on conversation capture and coaching for mid-market revenue teams.
Published pricing: Recording Seat from $83/month, Insights Seat from $42/month, Listener Seat $0. Jiminny states it charges no platform fee (only a one-time setup fee) and a 12-month minimum contract. 14-day free trial.
Pros: no platform fee is a genuine structural difference from Gong; strong coaching workflows; listener seats are free. Cons: the 12-month minimum removes exactly the flexibility many switchers want, and "from" pricing still means a quote. No forecasting.
Verdict: strong for mid-market teams whose problem is coaching rather than forecasting.
5. Fathom - Best Free Tier, and the Aggressive Switcher Offer
Tier: Notetaker moving upmarket · Pricing: Published
Fathom has the most generous free tier in this list and is pushing into deal intelligence.
Published pricing: Free - $0, unlimited recordings and transcriptions. Premium $20/month ($16 annual). Team plans: Team $19/user/month ($15 annual), Business $34/user/month ($25 annual), Enterprise on request. CRM sync, Deal View, coaching metrics and AI scorecards are Business-tier - that is the tier that actually competes with Gong.
Fathom also publicly offers Gong switchers free data migration plus free Business access until their Gong contract ends - a direct attack on the auto-renewal lock-in described above.
Pros: a genuinely unlimited free tier; the switcher offer neutralizes the mid-contract trap; excellent value at Business. Cons: no forecasting, so it is not an enterprise revenue-intelligence replacement. Fathom's own comparison page quotes Gong prices without citing a source - do not take those figures at face value.
Verdict: the best pick for small teams, and the most practical option if you are stuck mid-Gong-contract.
6. Fireflies.ai - Cheapest Per Seat
Tier: Notetaker · Pricing: Published
Fireflies is a general-purpose meeting assistant used well beyond sales.
Published pricing: Free forever (unlimited transcription, 400 minutes of storage, 20 AI credits, no video recording). Pro $10/seat/month annual ($18 monthly). Business $19 annual ($29 monthly) - this is where conversation intelligence and team analytics appear. Enterprise $39/seat/month, annual only.
Pros: the lowest credible per-seat price here; broad integrations; a usable free tier. Cons: it is a notetaker, not a revenue tool. No forecasting, no deal inspection. Being general-purpose means it is not opinionated about sales.
Verdict: right if you only ever used Gong for recording, transcription and search - which, honestly, describes a lot of rep usage.
7. Salesloft - Best If You Want to Consolidate
Tier: Sales engagement platform with CI included · Pricing: Quote only
Salesloft bundles conversation intelligence into its engagement platform and states you do not need a separate CI solution alongside it.
Pricing: none published. Vendr reports a median $30,720 per year across 703 purchases (range $5,160-$144,671), with a typical 10-15 seat minimum and annual escalators.
Pros: one contract instead of two if you also need sequencing and dialing; Conversations is well integrated. Cons: CI is a component, not the product, so depth trails Gong. You are replacing an opaque platform with another opaque platform of similar size.
Verdict: makes sense as consolidation, not as a CI upgrade.
8. Revenue.io - Best for Real-Time Coaching
Tier: Full revenue intelligence · Pricing: Quote only, seat floor published
Revenue.io is Salesforce-native and does something Gong does not: live in-call coaching.
Pricing: three tiers named (Activate, Engage, Orchestrate), no prices published, and a stated 15+ seat minimum - a higher published floor than anything Gong discloses.
Pros: real-time guidance during calls; deep Salesforce integration. Cons: the seat floor means it solves cost for nobody small; quote-only.
Verdict: worth a look for Salesforce-native orgs that want live coaching. Not a budget alternative.
9. Sybill - Best for Individual Reps
Tier: CI plus deal workspace · Pricing: Published
Sybill is rep-first: an AI assistant that handles CRM updates and follow-ups, with deal inspection secondary.
Published pricing (monthly): Free $0 (500 credits/week, 20 AI summaries/month). Pro $30/user/month. Business $90/user/month (CRM autofill, API and MCP access, deal workspace). Enterprise custom. Annual billing saves up to 34%. 14-day Business trial, no credit card.
Pros: genuinely useful free tier; strong CRM automation; MCP access at Business. Cons: credit-metered usage reintroduces the budget unpredictability people dislike about usage pricing. No forecasting.
Verdict: good for individual AEs and small teams who want admin work removed.
10. Modjo - Best for European Data Residency
Tier: CI plus deal analytics · Pricing: Quote only
Modjo is the strongest European option, and states its data is hosted in France on AWS servers in the Paris region, with SOC 2 Type II and GDPR framing.
Pricing: none published.
Pros: the data-residency position is a genuine differentiator no US vendor here matches. Cons: quote-only; thinner English-language review coverage.
Verdict: shortlist it if EU data residency is a requirement rather than a preference.
11. Otter.ai - Cheapest General Transcription
Tier: Notetaker · Pricing: Published
Otter is a general-purpose transcription tool, not a sales product.
Published pricing: Free (300 minutes/month), Pro $16.99/month ($8.33 annual), Business $30/month ($19.99 annual), Enterprise custom.
Pros: cheap, familiar, reliable transcription. Cons: no sales features worth the name. It appears on Gong lists purely for price contrast.
Verdict: only if your requirement was never really conversation intelligence.
12. Grain - Notetaker with a Caveat
Tier: Notetaker · Pricing: Partly published
Grain does AI notetaking with coaching features on higher tiers.
Published pricing: Starter $19/seat/month annual. Business and Enterprise prices are not published. Its free tier is viewer-only and cannot record or upload - worth knowing before you plan around it.
Pros: clean product, straightforward starter price. Cons: the free tier does not do the thing you want a free tier for; upper tiers are quote-only.
Verdict: fine as a notetaker. Check the free-tier limitation first.
Which Vendors Publish Their Prices
The most practical filter in this whole category, since quote-only means a sales cycle before you learn anything.
| Publishes per-seat pricing | Quote only |
|---|---|
| Avoma, Fathom, Fireflies, Sybill, Otter, Grain (Starter), Jiminny (partly) | Gong, Chorus, Clari, Salesloft, Modjo, Revenue.io |
Genuine free tiers: Fathom (unlimited recordings - the strongest), Fireflies (unlimited transcription), Sybill (20 summaries/month), Otter (300 minutes/month), Grain (viewer-only, cannot record). Avoma and Jiminny offer 14-day trials. Gong offers neither.
If You Do Not Actually Need Call Recording
Worth naming a case none of the twelve above covers, and being explicit that this is our product rather than a ranked entry.
A good number of teams evaluating Gong alternatives are not really trying to analyze calls. They are trying to work out which prospects are worth a call at all - and they reached for conversation intelligence because it was the category they knew.
If that is the actual problem, every tool above is aimed after the moment that matters. They all analyze conversations that already happened, with prospects who already agreed to a meeting. They say nothing about the much larger group who read your outbound, formed a view, and never replied.
Parsley works on that side of the line. Reps put a Parsley link on their LinkedIn profile and in outbound emails; the AI presales agent answers prospects' questions from the team's own sales docs, and every conversation produces first-party buyer intent - what they asked, MEDDIC signals detected passively, and a Hot, Warm or Cold intent temperature - synced to your CRM before a call is booked. It is 25¢ per conversation with 10 free to start, published pricing, no seats and no contract.
This is not a Gong replacement, and swapping one for the other would be a mistake. Gong tells you how your calls went. Parsley tells you what prospects wanted before there was a call. Plenty of teams should run both. See our Gong pricing breakdown for how the two compare on cost.
How to Choose
- Enterprise, forecasting is mandatory - Chorus, Clari, Salesloft or Revenue.io. Accept that you are swapping vendors, not escaping quote-only pricing.
- Mid-market, want Gong's shape at a readable price - Avoma, fully loaded with the add-ons you need.
- Coaching is the real job - Jiminny.
- Small team, cost is the driver - Fathom Business or Fireflies Business.
- Stuck mid-contract with Gong - Fathom's switcher offer is built for exactly that.
- EU data residency required - Modjo.
- You only ever used the recordings - Fireflies or Otter, and stop paying enterprise prices for search.
Before you switch, check your Gong renewal date and the 60-day notice window. That clause, not the feature comparison, is what most often decides whether a switch happens this year or next.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best Gong alternative?
Avoma is the best overall alternative for most teams: it covers conversation and revenue intelligence, publishes per-seat pricing, charges no platform fee, and offers a 14-day trial. Enterprises needing mature forecasting should look at Chorus, Clari or Salesloft. Small teams are usually better served by Fathom or Fireflies.
Is there a free Gong alternative?
Yes. Fathom offers unlimited free recordings and transcriptions, Fireflies offers unlimited free transcription, Sybill offers 20 free AI summaries a month, and Otter offers 300 free minutes a month. Grain's free tier is viewer-only and cannot record. Gong itself has no free tier and no free trial.
How much does Gong cost compared to alternatives?
Gong does not publish prices; Vendr's March 2026 data reports a median contract of $54,900 per year across 1,126 purchases. Published alternatives start far lower - Avoma from $19 per seat per month, Fireflies from $10, Fathom Business at $25 annually. Compare fully loaded, since Avoma's revenue-intelligence features are paid add-ons.
Can I cancel Gong mid-contract?
Gong's published terms auto-renew for one-year periods unless either party gives written notice at least 60 days before the term ends, and reducing volume or contract length at renewal re-prices without regard to your previous per-unit rate. Mid-term seat reductions are subject to contract terms rather than being self-serve. Check your renewal date before planning a switch.
What is the difference between conversation intelligence and revenue intelligence?
Conversation intelligence records and analyzes calls for coaching and visibility. Revenue intelligence adds forecasting, pipeline inspection and deal-risk scoring on top. Many tools marketed as Gong alternatives are conversation intelligence or plain notetakers, so a manager who needs forecast roll-up will find the gap quickly.
Do any Gong alternatives handle pre-call intelligence?
Not within this category - all of them analyze conversations that already happened. Capturing what a prospect wants before a call is a different product type, based on first-party intent from conversations on your own links rather than on recorded meetings.
The Bottom Line
Work out which tier you actually need before you shortlist, because that decision matters more than any feature comparison.
- Best overall - Avoma, the only Tier 1 option with published pricing
- Best for enterprise - Chorus by ZoomInfo
- Best free tier - Fathom
- Best for coaching - Jiminny
- Cheapest per seat - Fireflies
- Best if forecasting is the real gap - Clari
- Best for EU data residency - Modjo
The pattern worth noticing: most vendors that beat Gong on price do it by being a smaller product, and most that match it on capability match it on opacity too. Only Avoma really does both - full capability with prices you can read - and even then you have to add up the add-ons.
