Connect Parsley to Salesflare CRM for automatic lead and conversation sync. This guide walks you through setup and verification.

Quick Setup

  1. Have a Salesflare account
  2. Navigate to Hub > Integrations in Parsley
  3. Click Connect with API Key on the Salesflare card
  4. Enter your Salesflare API key
  5. Verify the connection shows "Connected" status

That's it. Leads and conversations now sync automatically.

Prerequisites

  • A Salesflare account - Sign up at salesflare.com if you don't have one.
  • A Parsley account - CRM integrations are included on every account; there is no add-on or upgrade. Sync runs off conversations, so you need conversation balance for data to reach your CRM - 10 free at signup, then 25¢ each. View pricing.
  • Your Salesflare API key - Found in Settings > API Keys in Salesflare.
  • Admin of your Parsley organization - if your Parsley account belongs to an organization, only an org admin can connect or change the CRM connection. The connection is shared by the whole team, so one admin connects it once on everyone's behalf. Solo accounts with no organization are unaffected.

Step 1: Get Your API Key

  1. Log in to Salesflare
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon)
  3. Click API Keys
  4. Click Create API Key
  5. Name it "Parsley Integration"
  6. Copy the generated key

Keep this key secure - you'll need it in the next step.

Step 2: Connect to Salesflare

From your Parsley dashboard:

  1. Go to Hub in the left sidebar
  2. Click Integrations
  3. Find the Salesflare card
  4. Click Connect with API Key
  5. Paste your API key
  6. Click Connect

The Salesflare card will now show "Connected" status.

Step 3: Contact Sync

Contact sync is enabled by default. Here's what happens when you capture a lead:

Parsley FieldSalesflare Field
Emailemail
First Namefirstname
Last Namelastname
Phonephone_number
Companyorganisation
Job Titleposition

How it works:

  • Parsley searches for existing contacts by email
  • If found, Parsley updates the contact
  • If not, Parsley creates a new contact
  • Accounts are auto-created or linked based on company name

Sync triggers:

  • Lead capture via contact exchange form
  • Lead capture via chatbot conversation
  • Contact form submissions on your profile

Intelligence Tags

Parsley automatically provisions 12 intelligence tags in your Salesflare account. These tags are applied to contacts based on their chatbot conversation and appear directly on the contact record for filtering and automation.

Lead Source (1 tag)

TagApplied When
Parsley: Chatbot LeadEvery lead captured through a Parsley chatbot conversation

Lead Quality (1 of 3 tags)

TagApplied When
Parsley: Hot LeadStrong buying signals - mentions budget, timeline, or decision authority
Parsley: Warm LeadModerate interest - asking about features, pricing, or use cases
Parsley: Cold LeadEarly-stage - general questions, research, or browsing

Engagement (0-2 tags)

TagApplied When
Parsley: Return VisitorProspect has visited your profile in a previous session
Parsley: Deep ConversationProspect sent 8 or more messages - a substantive engagement

MEDDIC Signals (0-6 tags)

TagApplied When
Parsley: Metrics SignalProspect mentions measurable outcomes or success criteria
Parsley: Economic Buyer SignalProspect indicates they are a decision-maker or budget holder
Parsley: Decision Criteria SignalProspect describes specific requirements or evaluation criteria
Parsley: Decision Process SignalProspect mentions their evaluation or buying process
Parsley: Identify Pain SignalProspect describes a specific pain point or challenge
Parsley: Champion SignalProspect indicates they are advocating internally for a solution

Using tags in Salesflare: Filter your contact list or pipeline by any Parsley tag to segment leads. For example, filter by Parsley: Hot Lead + Parsley: Return Visitor to find high-priority prospects who keep coming back. Combine with Parsley: Deep Conversation to find the most engaged leads. Tags can also trigger Salesflare email sequences for automated follow-up.

Step 4: Conversation Sync

When a prospect has a meaningful chatbot conversation on your Parsley profile, the context syncs to Salesflare as a task on their Account record.

What syncs to Salesflare:

  • Conversation summary - Key points and topics discussed
  • Lead quality score - Hot, Warm, or Cold based on signals
  • MEDDIC signals - Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Identify Pain, Champion indicators
  • Engagement metrics - Message count, session duration, return visitor status

The conversation task appears in the Account's timeline, giving you context before your first call.

Step 5: Verify the Connection

  1. Check the integration status - The Salesflare card should show "Connected"
  2. Capture a test lead - Use your own email to fill out your profile's contact form
  3. Check Salesflare - Within a few seconds, you should see a new Contact record
  4. Have a chatbot conversation - Ask a few questions on your profile's chatbot
  5. Check the Account's timeline - The conversation task should appear

Troubleshooting

"Only organization admins can manage the CRM connection"

You are a member of a Parsley organization but not an admin of it. The CRM connection is shared by the whole team, so only an org admin can create or change it.

Pasting your API key and clicking Connect shows this message as a "Connection Failed" notification. Parsley rejects the request before it validates or stores the key, so nothing is saved, no intelligence tags are provisioned, and the card stays disconnected.

Ask an org admin to connect Salesflare. Once they have, it applies to everyone - every rep's captured leads sync to the same Salesflare account, and you do not need to connect it yourself.

Note this is about your Parsley organization, not your Salesflare permissions - the two are unrelated, and being a Salesflare admin does not let you past this check.

"Invalid API Key" Error

  • Make sure you copied the complete API key
  • Check that the API key hasn't been revoked in Salesflare
  • Try creating a new API key

Leads Not Syncing

  • Verify the integration shows "Connected" status
  • Check that you have conversation balance - sync runs off conversations, so at zero balance the agent stops answering and nothing reaches your CRM
  • Ensure the lead has a valid email address

Conversations Not Appearing

  • Conversation sync only triggers for substantive conversations (3+ messages)
  • Tasks appear in the Account's activity timeline

What's Next

  • Use Salesflare's pipeline automation with your synced leads
